Time to go home, but the adventure isn't over yet.
One last moment on the hammocks 'afore we go.
A trip into the cloud forest to find an elusive waterfall. The first sign said .. 'DON'T STOP HERE.. THIS ISN'T THE WATERFALL'. A few feet later the sign said. YES.. STOP HERE. When we get to where one sign points us.. .. the gate is closed and someone tells us the waterfall doesn't open until 8 the next morning!
We spent the night at the Best Western hotel, It took us a bit too long to find it. I should have just read the map Avis gave us in the glove compartment! Our nerves were getting a bit frayed by the time we reached the hotel. Once there, Colin and I drove the car back to Avis and got a taxi back.
We squeezed 5 of us into the room and I have to say, it was the best nights sleep I had in several days. The city seemed quiet compared to the beach!
Up the next morning, breakfast at Denny's, gently getting out of Tico land, and onto the bus for the airport.
The flight from San Jose to Miami was relatively uneventful. We did get to fly over Cuba and we did get to see a fantastic view of the Florida Keys and the everglades.
Once in Miami, we had to go through customs and Immigration. Then onto the plane for Boston.. Almost there..
The weather was starting to get interesting while we were on the ground in Miami. Here is a view out of my window seat.
Once up, we got a great view of Miami.
Oops.. we're going around in circles.. what's up... Oh they tell us that all northbound flights have been told to fly in place because of storms.. How long will this take??
It turns out that the delay wasn't for very long and we proceed northwards.. right through the storms. I had a fantastic view of lightning from the window. Check out the lighting bolts below. I love storms and I love flying and I have to say, now I love flying in storms.
That's it. We got to Logan, caught the bus to the parking lot, managed to squeeze five of us and all our luggage into the Camry and got home around midnight.
.. ready for the next trip..
